Download Fabric installer 1.16.4-1.16.3 - Fabric ModLoader for Minecraft
The Fabric Mod Loader allows you to run mods in Minecraft starting from the 1.16 version. It is an excellent alternative of Forge for the Village & Pillage and the following updates.
The main advantage of the loader is high speed, even with a large number of installed mods. By itself, it does not add anything to the game and is needed only for the development and use of add-ons. It also works with snapshots. To see them during installation, check the box next to “Show snapshots”. Almost every mod also requires installing the Fabric API.

Please note that the Windows .EXE may show a SmartScreen warning message about an “Unknown publisher”. Unfortunately, we cannot currently do anything about this. If it makes you feel uncomfortable, use the .JAR or MultiMC method to install. Most mods will also require you to install Fabric API into the mods folder.

How to install fabric installer 1.16.3:
MultiMC:
NOTE MultiMC is a modding-friendly alternate launcher for Minecraft, which is recommended for working with Fabric and can be found here.
- Download the Fabric MultiMC below.
- Start MultiMC. Click on “Add Instance” in the top-left, then select “Import from ZIP” and paste the URL in the text field. Don’t forget to set the name!
- Press OK. Your Fabric instance is ready to go – feel free to add mods to it.
Regular client:
- Download the Fabric installer below.
- Open the installer. In the window you need to configure the mapping and loader version and the install location (the default should be fine on most platforms).
NOTE You need to enable snapshots in order to make the installer show mapping options for Minecraft snapshots. - Press Install. A new game version and profile will be created in the launcher’s menu, which you can now use to launch Fabric.
Server:
- Download the Fabric installer below.
- Open the installer. Select the “Server” tab at the top of the window.
- In the window you need to configure the mapping and loader version and the install location.
NOTE You need to enable snapshots in order to make the installer show mapping options for Minecraft snapshots. - Press Install. In the output directory, a
fabric-server-launch.jar
will be created. It expects aserver.jar
, which is the vanilla server JAR, generally found on Mojang’s version announcement blog posts, next to it, but will also generate a properties file on first launch where you can change the path.
NOTE If you are upgrading your existing server, remember to remove the.fabric
folder if the installer did not remove that for you! Or you will get classloading errors.
